QLOAK

Quantum-safe vault

Ordinary Solana wallets sign with Ed25519. A large enough quantum computer could work out the secret key from the public one.

A Winternitz vault signs with hashes instead, which quantum computers don't break.

The catch: each key signs exactly once. Every withdrawal uses up the current key and moves what's left to a new vault with the next key.

One-time keys, plainly

  1. 1Your vault key is a chain of one-time keys.
  2. 2Withdrawing uses one up, and the rest of your balance moves to the next.
  3. 3Save the whole chain. Lose it and the vault can't be opened, by you or anyone else.

Built for holding, not trading.
